April Rain Poetry

Welcome to April Rain Poetry.

I thought of calling this site ‘lastlight’, but the name was already taken.  I’d had the idea for a poetry booklet, titled ‘The Seagull’s Cry and the Lastlight in the Lane.  Poems of two places.’  The booklet would contain poems inspired by the south-east, where I was brought up, and the Dundee area, where I live now.  The seagull’s cry relates to here, and the ‘lastlight in the lane’, to beautiful sunset walks in Marsh Lane, near the River Stort in Harlow, Essex.

However, maybe it’s best that ‘lastlight’ was taken – I’m sure the blog would have expanded, anyway, to include poems about other things! 

I hope you enjoy my poetry and it would be great to hear from some of you.  I’m interested in joining an online poetry workshop, if anyone knows of a good one!
